Abstract

This research aims to present an integrative perspective between modern psychological counselling and the Islamic concept of self-purification (Tazkiyat al-Nafs), drawing upon the Prophetic methodology in building a balanced personality. The study seeks to demonstrate how the concepts of self-purification, spiritual refinement, and moral development can contribute to addressing contemporary negative phenomena such as cyber extortion, hate speech, intellectual extremism, and drug abuse within an academic framework that engages university students. The research adopts an inductive and analytical approach to the study of Islamic texts, while comparing their principles with selected theories of modern psychological counselling. The findings reveal that self-purification represents an authentic and comprehensive civilizational framework that preceded modern psychology by centuries. Furthermore, activating its principles within university counselling units can effectively support initiatives aimed at strengthening authentic values in society and protecting young minds from intellectual and moral deviations.
